Painting workshops with artist David Yapp
Plein Air Workshops
Have you always wanted to paint in oils on location—just as the Impressionists did in 19th century France? Join one of my workshops to discover the joy found in painting “en plein air.”
Whether a novice or further along as an artist, you will find these workshops both fun and informative.
Upcoming workshop dates:
Saturday May 4
Saturday June 1
Learn to paint en plein air (in the open air) at this beautiful winery with a spectacular view over the American River Canyon. Discover the tools and techniques used to create a successful landscape painting on location. We will look at creating a successful composition, using an under-painting, and working with both brushes and palette knife to apply color.
The workshop is suitable for those with some painting experience to intermediate level artists.
Workshops start at 9.15am and finish at 4pm. There will be one hour for lunch, during which time you may like to sample some of Wofford’s wines.*
You can either bring your own equipment and materials or purchase the workshop with equipment and materials rental included.
*Wine tasting can be purchased in the tasting room for $10.
