Plein air landscape artist David Yapp paints scenes of California in oils. Subjects are as diverse as the California landscape itself and include the Sierra Nevada mountains, the oak covered hills and scenic coastline. David uses palette knife and brushes in a style that is reminiscent of impressionism.

About the Workshop

Join artist David Yapp for this fun, creative 2.5 hour workshop. Using reproductions of old engravings, torn paper and clippings from old publications, you will create a nature-themed collage on a panel. This you will further embellish with acrylic paint using a range of interesting techniques. No experience necessary. Art materials provided.

With a climate that mirrors the Mediterranean region, Mediterranean Vineyards grows and crafts the best varietals from the Old World. This workshop gives you not only the opportunity to develop your creativity, but also to enjoy wine inspired by the Mediterranean’s most sought-after varietals in the exquisite scenery of the California foothills.

The first glass of wine is included in the workshop fee, and you are always welcome to purchase more to help the creative juices flow!

Bring an apron and/or wear clothes that you don’t mind getting paint on. Materials provided, but you may bring collaging materials if you wish to incorporate them into the project. Bring a bottle of water to stay hydrated.

British artist, David Yapp is an avid landscape painter who enjoys exploring the mountains and foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains. David has lived in California for the last twenty years working in a range of media from watercolors, pen and ink, to oils. He has exhibited in both Europe and the U.S.
